Frim prodded me to figure out how the hell to manage domains with Hostonce. After asking the right questions, Debbie finally produced a feasible answer! Quoting Debbie: If you would like the DNS for your domain changed then you can request that this is done for you by submitting a ticket to the DNS changes category of our helpdesk.
Once the request is received the change will be made for you at our registrar. ____________ boredome is the bitter fruit of too much routine |

Good good. I ordered new hosting (Perfect - ID) last friday. So if you wait a bit then there's a new location to point the DNS to.

Quoting Ferret: The help desk has a seperate account to any hosting Peater. That is nice. But it doesn't tell one how one would access one's hosting on hostonce without a domain. Not that you would want to access that slimey hostonce rubbish! ROAR! ____________ I see 57,005 people. |

If we're changing the DNS settings to point to a new host, why would we need to access hosting on Hostonce?

Quoting Woody: If we're changing the DNS settings to point to a new host, why would we need to access hosting on Hostonce? It's just a question. Do I have to justify all questions? I am wondering how hostonce provide access to the hosting they provide you, without a domain. I did not get an alternative address when I registered with them. Is this another example of their shoddy workmanship? ____________ I see 57,005 people. |

They dont give you an alternative. It's to make you register a domain name with them.
