Does anyone actually use the laptop numpad like that? I've tried on my thinkpad but I can't get my brain to ignore the letters on the keys.

Quoting Frimkron: Does anyone actually use the laptop numpad like that? I've tried on my thinkpad but I can't get my brain to ignore the letters on the keys. What about forgetting to turn off num lock when typing? I am sure you could train yourself to get used to it if you tried hard enough. For example you shouldn't be looking at the keys when you type. ____________ I see 57,005 people. |

I dont look at the keys when I type normally but to use the numpad I have to because the keys are offset from where they'd be on a normal numpad. Its too much hastle trying to use it anyway.

Whenever I use a laptop i do use the emulated numpad. Personally I find the row of numbers across the top painfully slow and innacurate.

it's not that hard to learn new keys. You just need to practise. I use qwerty and azerty both and it's not that I type faster on qwerty than azerty even though they are totally different.
