I'm really interested in using my 3ds models in Fenix (most of them are counter-strike style levels) but have no clue about 3d in Fenix at the moment. Maybe DTM could post some documentation for his DLL that would totally rock. ____________ .g105b'' |

I know there is no shadow, lightmap, particles, etc. but would it not be possible to do those effects manually? I have only had a VERY brief look over your source so I might be asking dumb questions now but ... Is it possible to place 2d graphic in a specific place in the 3ds level? I could use 2d graphics for particles/dust/fog/etc. Also is it possible to draw onto the textures of the level, or place 2d graphics on walls/floors? That way I could do bullet holes or tire marks, etc. I am just wondering what capabilities this dll has. I don't want to try and learn how to use it and then realise it isn't exactly what I'm looking for. I want mode_8 & editor that was so bad it was good. ____________ .g105b'' |

I don't think you could do those effects manually. No 2d graphics, no drawing on textures, I don't *think* the ray selection works so no bullet collisions, unless you used some angular method like in mode7/8. you see all there is in void walker! So it's not really suitable for an FPS. This probably has more functionality, but being a software renderer is slower. ____________ :o |

Yeah I've been impressed by Eckolin's work on that, just there is no way of using my 3ds levels with that (as I know of). Ah well, it was a long shot anyway. Please post if you know how to convert 3ds into md2 or whatever Eckolin's 3d5 demo uses. ____________ .g105b'' |
