I happen to agree with you, PEader, I see the Wastelands as a place to post less meaningful shit, therefore locking topics because they are considered spam sees weird. Perhaps the definition of the Wastelands should be reconsidered.

to be honest i repect people spamming in other people's threads on these boards. it can be quite amusing, providing the post is actually funny. but finding the most uninteresting point and expanding on it is just hijacking a thread and crapping all over it. ____________ |

The exact definitions (by Ferret): Malarkey: general talk Post-Apocalyptic Wastelands: flaming allowed Spamming isn't allowed anywhere on the forum. History: First the "Post-Apocalyptic Wastelands" was called "Wastelands": 'Flame all you like, anything goes'. Also TEAG still existed at that point. Then, when it became obvious all this spam was not good for BS, The Wastelands were changed to "Post-apocalyptic Wastelands":'Flame all you like'. But not 'anything goes' anymore - spam is officially forbidden by the rules. So one would ask: why have a forum that is for crap and allows flaming? I thought the idea behind it is that this way this way it wouldn't happen in other parts of the forum. Obviously the Wastelands aren't moderated much on spam if at all, but still you should realize you can also post crap and off-topic topics without it being spam. Let's take peter's letter to the president, that was high quality crap. But then again when somebody posts a "roflomg !! one one ducky durnk" reply then it would be spam. This is all getting way to serious. Just divide Malarkey and the Wastelands into quality off-topic posts and shit posts. This way both can survive and the ones who don't like shit posts just stay out of Wastelands. Capiche.
