With my laptop screen you never know what's going to happen next, which makes computing more of an adventure. For example, today booleansoup has an animated background to me, where sometimes the trees are blue and even during typing this sentence, my screen got completely gray 3 times. In fact I'm typing blind now, because I don't feel like going to standby everytime this happens. There is nothing I can do after it turns gray though, so that's kind of a pitty. But the animateions I see during the computing, can be quite amusing. Anyway, this is getting confusing, because I can't check anything I wrote,. I'll go standbye and back now, so I can post the message and check it. I hope this makes sense to you all :)

Do you have a magnetic device beside your monitor, like a speaker, video recorder, or dvd player?

This could be. This problem usually occurs when i'm typing. And when I'm typing, I'm pressing the keys quite well, if you get my drift... ¬_¬

I think it's better to type more carefully for a while now O_O

Always. But it does it even when I move it elsewhere. What you get for using 14 year old equiptment.

Ferret is the pattern purplish?

PBGamer does it happen only when the laptop is not plugged in? I know some laptops change screen settings to save power when they are not plugged in.

No, the screen is just wavy. It's like the the picture is projected onto a piece of cloth behind the glass, and the left side has been waved a little.

Interesting that you mention that, because this is what I thought it was at one point (the first few times it only happened when not plugged in), but later it also happened when plugged in, so I guess that's not it...

Anyway, somehow it seems to be alright now, but when it happens it repeats it's self for a while. Also sometimes the screen just flickers a couple of times...

If you've had it less then 6 months bring it back and get it replaced. Fuck it man.

I'll go after it, but this laptop is more than 2.5 years old and the company that built it went broke. I did have a 4 year warranty originally, but when the company went broke things got a bit vague on wheter or not the warranty would stay. Anyway, I can always try...

Anyway I can imagine that the company went broke. Although my school had a contract with them so that they would recomend this laptop, it's really bad. The processor was qutie fast for it's time (2,8 Ghz), but it has a crappy videocard and a terrible soundcard (always nois on the background). I've had troubles with the screen before and the motherboard already is replaced once. So in general, if the company had to pay as mutch for every laptop they built, I can imagine them going broke :S...
