I'd like to have the option to turn of avatars. Otherwise, maybe some avatars (like female dancers in underwear) should not be alowed...

This is a planned feature. We'll get round to it eventually. Signatures and post counts and all that will also be optional.

The ones Slashdot has are interesting sometimes. But it won't work anyway before the Booleansoup crowd grows. And even then it only MIGHT be useful.
