Hay gals n pals

Hey gals n pals, my name is Fredblaster and I'm on these here part O' the innernets to tell you folks about the game I've been creating with the help of Eckolin since about April last year. The game is called Infernal Chambers and hopefully will be available in the first half of 2011.

Current features:

>> Six enemies of varying kinds and attack styles
>> Particle engine and additive blended lighting
>> Four weapons of varying strengths and weaknesses
>> Original intro movie and plot
>> Unlockable concept art/early renderings gallery
>> Totally customisable ingame controls and settings


Yet to be implemented:

>> One more enemy
>> Hiding
>> Lockpicking
>> Saving (?)
>> More music?
>> Random room generation
>> Bugfixing (probably - can't see any to date but yeah I'm sure there'll be some)

The graphics and graphical effects are great, and I wonder what the gameplay consists of, because that wasn't really clear from the video. So can you move between different rooms, and do enemies come out at the spots where the lights in the rooms are broken or something? The enemies were barely visible!

A fullscreen link to a 480p video isn't doing you much favors, and I hate youtube. It looks rather nice though, and the feature list is something out of this part of the world!

It's a top down survival horror, so it involves shooting/using melee attacks, dodging enemy attacks/hiding behind cover, lockpicking your way out of hairy situations and hiding from enemies when you've got no ammunition left (or running). Only one type of enemy appears from the corners of the room, and those enemies are known as shadow folk. Sillouettes that cannot be defeated, they appear when two or more lights are smashed. So please, try to avoid smashing the lights...

Yeah I just happened to have it up already, it's a bit out of date, the lights no longer fade red etc. I'll post a more up to date video when room generation is out.

You will inevitably destroy the lights during enemy fights, trying to frantically shoot at a klansman or a frankendog. and DTM, it's prerendered, so it's actually 2d. :]
