Work in Progress Games
Kensuo
Hi guys, Tovi here.
First of all, sorry about the filesize :p There's alot of music in ogg format, and that's the main reason the game is so big compared to the div version.
While playing, remember the following:
-Running will let you jump further AND higher.
-Press [down] to talk to characters.
-Hold down [space] to charge up an attack. (If you found the upgrade potions)
----------------------------------
The game is a SNES like 2D platformer. Run, jump, attack... Yeah that's about it.
This game has full sound, full music, 10 levels, with 1 tutorial level, 2 bosses.
Oh yeah, this game is pretty hard too, so I included a savegame at 60% in case you can't make the desert levels. Don't use it unless you really really need it
So yeah. Play it. Rate it.
Thanks!

The game's great. The music is top notch, (and is the 'hurt' sound strong bad?)
The gameplay is also great. I could tell there's been a lot of fine tuning going on. Only gripe is the art. Especially of the main guy. But when the rest is this good, it's not a problem really.

Done! Ok, so first of all I am not in your giant name list in the end. This is unforgivable as you will understand.
The graphics are pretty well done (wooooh pixel shading), just as the music which does add a special atmosphere to the game.
There are some bugs however. In the level where planes emerge for the first time I managed to fall off the end of the level by doing the second attack (which shoots you forward) which brought me behind the checkpoint teleport thing after which I walked off the end of the level. I kept falling forever without dying.
These wheel enemies actually have their rolling animation to the wrong side when they move to one side.
When I finished off the giant blob the first time, I died after the talk dialog ended even though I had already won. =/
Jumping is still jerky (make it a parabole or something? Seems a bit like a triangle jump right now). Sometimes it's not obvious at all if a 'gap' is something that makes you die or if there's a platform beneath it. And last but not least why can't I just loose a heart when I accidentily touch the spears pointing up? It's such a hard punishment to have to restart the level for such a minor mistake!
Jumping on enemies somehow results in dying about 25% of the times, I don't even dare trying anymore. (I don't mean the spikebeasts ofcourse) but however there's a chance it's just me.
The game entertained me for about 3 hours, so that's pretty good! I don't play many selfmade games this long.
The overall gameplay is good, I liked playing, although in the end I found myself wasting quite a bit of time loading up for attacks. And the sword attack seems to be a bit slow to be effective.
And I was wondering about the special sword in the castle level; somehow I can't get out that room after I took the sword, how should I do this?
And wonder no longer where Mike is, he's simply on this forum.

The legendary game is back! (and now does not suffer from DIV2 crashness) I must say it is very good (so far), the music I thought was great for the last levels but the first grass levels I'm not so sure about. Bosses on the whole worked well, could you make it a little more obvious when the chain is getting damaged on the last one though (is this a spoiler?)? Also, I'm getting a few false hits by enemies (when i'm jumping and close to their edge), and once or twice a blob that came out of an aeropane or vehicle thing killed me without me being able to do anything.
Finally, I really like the kind of gameplay this has (ie where you need fast reactions to fight off al the enemies), making the sword attack a touch more responsive could be better to improve this further (a few times I pressed it, then got hit before it worked)

Very fun and well made game! Been playing it for quite a while and while there are a few bugs (as pointed out by previous posters) , once fixed, this will be perfect.
