Could someone make RSS feeds for the most recent forum posts and worklog entries? I mean, you already have the php scripts for finding the most recent posts/entries, could someone manipulate them to output as and RSS feed, 'cause that would be awesome. Doesn't particularly matter if you can't/don't want to, but I thought it would be a good idea. ____________ |

Lol you guys in need of a webprogrammer? A RSS feed isn't too hard to do. There are most likely enough RSS classes made in PHP. If you fancy Perl, and you should, use XML::RSS. It's really easy to use. ____________ blog.htbaa.com |

I suggest the skin Lisa. It has a relaxed view, simple orientation and variable width.

Yeah, the default (souperguy) skin is jerky and slow at scrolling in both firefox 1.5 and 2.0.

Wow didn't knew there were different themes to choose from :-). This other skin works nice. Err Frimkron, it doesn't matter what langauge is used to generate the RSS feed. PHP, Perl, ASP, whatever. I could do a PHP RSS feed, but also a Perl RSS feed. Since there is already a great module for RSS feeds with Perl the Perl solution would be faster. But I might be able to find some free time in a weekend to do a simple RSS feed generator. Just send me a dump of your database (structure plus some dummy data) and tell me if I have to keep a few things in mind (like hidden forums). ____________ blog.htbaa.com |

I've sent you a PM. Regarding the default layout, does it scroll more smoothly with images disabled? I notice little difference between the default and the Lisa skin in firefox or internet explorer, but its likely that I'm using a faster machine. I ask about the images because the only thing I can think is causing the slowdown is the main background jpeg. Its either that or the google ad, but that appears on all skins. If you could give me more info that would be useful. ____________ |

This Lisa skin runs great. I'm on a P4 2.8hz and 1gb of ram. So I doubt it's the machine. Dunno what it is, but it's probaly because of all the background images.

Did you try disabling images like I said? In firefox: Tools > Options > Content > Uncheck load images, then reload the page. I'd like to know if that makes a difference or not. Complaining about it is pretty useless without giving me some more info.

Hmm this is kind of weird. I switched back and now it all seems to be fine? Another possibility is that when I have more programs running (like FTD, a XML based browser system that's quite heavy) it starts to get choppy. I'll try that tommorow.
