C++ 2D Shooter project (Htbaa's Worklog)
New build for Windows and Linux
I expended the level format a bit so I can repeat certain sequences multiple times.
The first power-up has been added. It upgrades the main weapon and has 4 different stages. First stage is default, 2nd stage has 2 bullets, 3rd stage has 3 bullets and the 4th stage contains a devastating number of 5 bullets.
I also added a third enemy. The fourth and fifth will come next. The first enemy now has a different movement than just straight forward.
Currently development is going pretty fast. My engine is more or less complete for the time being and I have a easy way of adding levels. The included level can be edited. Unknown values are ignored. I am not sure what happens if you decide to ruin it is structure. But that does not really matter though :-).
The controls are still the same. Arrow keys to move, A to shoot and I have left S in there to destroy every enemy on screen.

Yes, a great build this is. Keep it up. I'd like a shield à la Tyrian, so get to it.

You know, I've been thinking about such kind of thing. What's a Tyrian?

In Tyrian, your shield drops when you get hit and regenerates up to some upper limit. When you get hit without having shields you start losing armour, which doesn't regenerate. When your armour drops to zero, you lose.

Ah okay, just like in Project Sylpheed. Cool stuff. Need to see how I can fit it in though :-).
I won't do a 1 hit = kill shooter. Those suck :P.
