I would have been nowhere without this language. It has all the great things: the DIV syntax (which is awesome), 16 bit colors, great graphical commands and functions, the ability to load your own DLL's and more. In other words, everything to make your own neat and awesome games.
It will take a while before a beginner has everything set up right (with IDE and all) but in the end it is definitely worth it. I can advice to use Context as IDE in combination with the Fenix highlight files and the compile & run batches from Sandman.
I've already had more fun with this than I ever had with DIV Games Studio, and that says a lot.
